Maserati was supposed to unveil its second SUV, the Grecale, on November 16th, 2021. However, because some supply problems the official launch date has been moved for sometime in the spring of 2022.

This doesn't mean however that the company has stopped testing the next Grecale or that is not considering new versions of it. In fact our spy photographers caught the next Grecale Trofeo out for some first testing sessions. The car was even dressed in proper red Christmas camouflage.

How will the 2023 Maserati Grecale Trofeo look like?

Of course since we have no idea how the Grecale will look like, is kind of hard to talk about the Trofeo version. But we do expect to see a similar treatment to all the other Trofeo models.

Looking at the Levante Trofeo, we expect the Grecale Trofeo to get the same more aggressive front look: } a redesigned bumper with three separate outlets, a much bigger, trapezoidal vent in the center apron and two extra vents on the engine hood.

The chrome elements should be replaced with Piano Black ones, and carbon fiber placed here and there should offer a sportier feel.

The model will ride on larger wheels, and on the car caught testing they were combined with red brake calipers featuring drilled brake discs.

What about the engine?

The Grecale is based on the same platform as the Alfa Romeo Stelvio, which means that the Grecale Trofeo will get the same engine as the Stelvio Quadrifoglio.}

However, there are a few rumors suggesting that the Trofeo version will be offered with the same engine as the Maserati MC20: a 3.0 liter twin-turbo V-6 engine with an output of 621 horsepower, but slightly detuned for the SUV.

When will the Maserati Grecale Trofeo be released?

At this point, we can not offer you a precise answer to this question, but the standard Grecale will be indeed released in the Spring of 2022, expect the Trofeo to arrive by the end of 2022 or in early 2023.
