The current Maserati line-up includes the Quattroporte, the GranTurismo, and the GranCabrio, but things are about to get a little more populated with addition of a new sedan and a new SUV. The company has already begun developing these models and we should start see the fruits of their labor sometime in 2012, with the last model - the SUV - arriving in 2014. Before that, a new generation Quattroporte will be coming off of the production block, followed by a smaller model that will take on the likes of the BMW 5-Series.

Both sedans are being designed by Pininfarina and the Fiat Auto Centro Stile as we speak and they will be offered with either a 400-hp MultiAir-equipped, turbocharged version of the Pentastar V-6 or a 300 HP V6 turbo-diesel. The engines will be mated to a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox that will help improve fuel consumption.

The new SUV arriving in 2014 - earlier said to be 2012 - will be the first one landing on the Maserati lineup and will be based on the Grand Cherokee platform. Sergio Marchionne, CEO of Chrysler Group and Fiat, has already confirmed that the new model will be fitted with a "rock and roll engine" from Ferrari, possibly in both V8 and V12 variants. The company has already invested $750 million for its production.

I hope Maserati will use a more modern engine on their future production. BTW, I was impressed with the elegance and sporty styling of the car.

Agreed. As expected from the Italian automaker they built the most powerful and elegant styling luxury car. However, I’m not satisfied with the power output of the car and its technology used for this vehicle, its kind of outdated!

Well, it’s really good to see that Maserati is finally building up their strength. They have already been in the business for quite some time now, so I think they are ready to expand.

Me too, I am looking forward to seeing Maserati’s SUV. Just want to know if they have what it takes to enter the SUV market, though I do have high hopes for them.

Well, let’s see if Maserati will indeed be able to come up with a good SUV. But, looking back at the cars that they already released, it seems that they will indeed be able to develop an SUV suited for the customers that they want to target.

Seemingly awesome! And the performance is quite impressive! I like on how the Maserati amazingly combine the luxurious and elegance on this car and its sporty as well.

Maserati car is the proud sister company of Ferrari. I really love their production car and just like Ferrari cars, their power performance is not disappointing at all.

Yup, this one is definitely going to be a good news. And I would really be looking forward for the SUV too, just want to see how good Maserati will be in that line.

Well now, that one would be an interesting development. It’s a good thing that Maserati is slowly starting to grow. Hmm, the SUV bit sounds good.

This Italian automaker really stands out! And our expectation on their car never leaves us disappointed. And i think the good point on their model is that it always looks so delicious, the sound was operatic and it drives superbly! If I have the money I would definitely love to have one!
