So many enthusiasts are champing at the bit for the sixth installment of the Fast & Furious franchise, but that’s not the only car movie in the game right now. A movie based on the hit video game, Need For Speed, is currently in production and is penciled in for a March 14, 2014 release. According to a picture snapped in Mendocino County, California, it looks like the new movie will feature one of the car's that impressed the world at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show: the McLaren P1.

Along with the P1, the images also reveal a bunch of other great supercars, including the Porsche Cayenne, Ford Mustang, Bugatti Veyron and the Saleen S7.

The 2014 Need For Speed movie tells the story of a young man fresh released from prison. The street racer was framed by a wealthy business associate to join a cross country race with revenge in mind. His ex-partner, learning of the plan, places a massive bounty on his head as the race begins.

About the McLaren P1

The production version McLaren P1 was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, after we saw a concept version last year. The P1 features a hybrid drivetrain that combines a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine that delivers a total of 727 horsepower with an electric motor delivers an additional 176 horsepower and a peak torque of 191 pound-feet.

The supercar features a special E-mode that allows the it to travel 12 miles with zero tailpipe emissions at speeds up to 30 mph. the P1 can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds, from 0 to 124 mph in under seven seconds and from 0 to 186 mph in 17 seconds. Top speed will be electronically limited to 217 mph.
