McLaren->ke284 is winding up for the pitch and ready to hit one out of the park against fellow rivals, Ferrari->ke252 and Lamborghini->ke44. Not only is their newest supercar - the MP4-12C - sold out for the next three years, but the British manufacturer is also planning to invest as much as $1 billion in developing and marketing a range of sports cars.

In a recent interview, Antony Sheriff, McLaren Automotive’s managing director, said that the company plans to unveil 13 models and variants in the coming years. The company is also planning to open 35 dealerships worldwide this year, including nine in the U.S. This plan has already been put into place with the opening of the new Hyde Park London boutique showroom just this week.

The development of the MP4-12C cost the company about $320 million and it was followed by a track version, the GT3. Next, we'll get a Spyder version which will be launched next year and a "baby" model that will take on models like the Porsche 911. That's a total of four models, so the other nine are still hidden in the bull pen. We're assuming we will also see a Spyder and Racing version of the future "baby" model as well. Two more down, seven to go.
