Mercedes-Benz and Cigarette Racing have a long-standing partnership that has given rise to some wild creations in the past. There was the SLS AMG-inspired boat from 2010. There was the Black Series 50’ Marauder Cigarette boat from 2012. Then there was the Cigarette Racing Vision Gran Turismo Concept from 2014. Now the two companies can add the 515 Project One Cigarette boat to its growing collection. Inspired by the Mercedes-AMG Project One, the 515 Project One is an insane superboat that has as much as 3,100 horsepower at its disposal. It’s meant for the high seas, but with that much power at its disposal, the 515 Project One is nothing short of a certified torpedo in the water. Oh, and it also costs $2 million. A little food for thought to go with those eye-popping figures.

The 51.5-foot long Cigarette Racing 515 Project One looks like a million bucks, or in this case, two million bucks. That’s an established fact. It’s even painted in the same silver with matte black accents combination that the actual Project One supercar is dressed in. The boat’s exterior is largely made of Kevlar and fiberglass while the boat’s interior is embellished with enough carbon fiber and Dinamica fabrics to make even the snootiest of aristocrats bend their knees in humility. Nobody’s going to accuse Cigarette Racing of being stingy with the luxury features of the boat.

Complementing the Monte Carlo-level of class and sophistication are two Mercury Racing twin-cam V-8 engines that can produce 1,550 horsepower each on racing fuel. Since there are two of them in there, the 515 Project One is capable of unleashing 3,100 horsepower in Poseidon’s domain. If you can’t handle that much power, there’s an option to get the slightly inferior 1,350 pairing of engines that combine to produce 2,700 horsepower. All told, the 515 Project One is capable of hitting a top speed approaching 140 mph.

All told, Project 515 is faster and lighter than its predecessor, the aforementioned Marauder. It also offers six additional passengers and 30 percent greater surface area. Of the nine boats that Cigarette Racing has created with the help of AMG — yes, there have been nine of them — the 515 Project One is without question the most advanced of the lot. I don’t know if it’s still worth $2 million after saying all of that, but if somebody buys one and is willing to let me drive it, I wouldn’t be opposed to that idea.

At this point, Cigarette Racing should probably consider bringing its own Vision Gran Turismo Concept to life. It has a pair of 1,650-horsepower Mercury Racing engines, which means that when you put them together, they combine to produce 3,300 horsepower, 200 horsepower more than the most powerful two-engine setup the boat company has in its lineup. It’s lightweight construction also sheds almost 1,000 pounds from its standard spec weight and when you combine that with the more powerful engine configuration, you’re looking at a boat that can safely exceed 140 mph without breaking a sweat.
