We’ve seen some pretty amazing teaser concepts in the years that we’ve been covering the auto industry, but we surely haven’t seen anything quite like what Mercedes is bringing to the Detroit Motor Show. In what can only be described as a “vehicle rising gently from a level plane as if formed from liquid silver”, Mercedes’ new Rising Car sculpture is as eye-catching and attention-grabbing as anything we’ve ever seen.

According to Gorden Wagener, Mercedes’ design chief, “Mercedes-Benz designers translate their artistic inspiration into the modern Mercedes-Benz design language, which combines excitement with harmony, style with passion."

The car is expected to highlight the Mercedes booth at the Detroit Motor Show where it will be displayed prominently alongside the E-Class Cabriolet and the SLS AMG Gullwing, giving on-lookers a first-hand glimpse at a one-of-a-kind sculpture of what looks to be a new concept from Mercedes.

Looking at the picture, looks like it can really shock many spectators. You should have inserted instead of a video because I still don’t understand. Did they introduce their entry through a sculpture or was it only a sculpture-like or is it really a car.

Well I don’t care whatever the car sculpture is, what’s important is if it will be that good. I guess the car is a SLS AMG which I think is one of the best cars of Mercedes. The style is there, the effort is there also, and of course the design is great for a car like that.
