According to the British magazine Autocar, Mercedes is planning a new high-performance four-door coupe that will sit above the current CLS in both performances and price range and will target models like Bentley Continental GT. Mercedes sources have described the model as "über-CLS" ("over-CLS") and it will feature a more dramatic design language and will feature AMG engines and chassis. Of course that all this improvements will be translated into a considerably higher price. This model will be mostly offered on markets that require ultra-expensive, high-performance models, particularly in Russia and the Middle East.

You should also consider this model as a response to the forthcoming extreme Porsche Panamera GT coupe that it is expected to be revealed sometime next year.

Same sources confirm that is very likely to also see a Maybach version of this model taking under consideration the huge success the Xenatec 62S Coupe has on the market. However, do not expect this new model before the early 2015.

The CLS is kind of high performing vehicle and I guess its a smart move for the Mercedes to compete on a not-so-speedy vehicle. BTW, the styling of the car is awesome just like any other Mercedes car.

Wow! It seems that Mercedes is now making a high speed performing vehicle. Continental GT is a great competitor for its the only the speedy vehicle of Bentley. I would love to see a race between the these cars.

hmm. I haven’t heard any Mercedes car that stands out when talking about the speed performance. However, its brand and elegance would be a strong point for this car to sell.

Why not? The figure performance of the Continental GT would a good competitor for the elegant styling of Mercedes car. I bet the competition in the market would be exciting.

Yeah, you’re right, they have already produced similar models to the Continental GT in the past. Maybe they can use those to as basis for developing their GT competitor.

Come to think of it, Mercedes has already gone into the niche where the Continental GT is for several times now. So they are probably knowledgeable already on how to do this.

This one would be quite an interesting thing to look forward to. The Continental GT is quite established in its market, so Mercedes really has a lot of catching up to do.

I can smell a long wheel based here! However, i just hope that the weight of the car wouldn’t affect the performance of the this future car! I bet this would be an interesting concept
if ever!

hmm. Well, I don’t think that we have to drool for this car since there are a lot of future car that was line up for the production of the Mercedes. However, I was looking forward to see the figure performance of this car.

Well, if you think of it, Mercedes’ legacy actually gives them all the rights to go head to head with the Continental GT. How they would do that would definitely be the more interesting story.

Well, this would be interesting. It looks like they’re now starting to put AMG components into non-AMG models. And lets see how they would fare going against the Continental GT.
