Mercedes-Benz came to the 2018 Detroit Auto Show with no fewer than four new vehicles. But while the G-Class is a brand-new SUV under that familiar skin, the other three are based on existing models. But they all wear a new "AMG 53" badge that will replace the existing "AMG 43" denomination. The new lineup made its debut on the recently unveiled CLS and the two-door versions of the latest E-Class, the Coupe and Cabriolet. The AMG E53 Cabriolet is the first drop-top to wear the new badge, as Mercedes has yet to launch an E63 variant, so it’s the most powerful iteration of the current E-Class convertible yet.
