Ever wonder what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Well, that sort of takes place here, with the gathering of the high-riding Mercedes G500 4x4² and the supercharged Ford F-150 Raptor known as the Hennessey Velociraptor 600.

The pair get down and dirty in this video clip, giving us a mere taste as to their capabilities and off-road prowess. The Mercedes 4x4², for example, is the more conservative version of the G63 6x6 – the triple-axle wonder that has six-wheel-drive and the ground clearance of a monster truck. New for 2015, the G500 4x4² offers the same suspension setup, minus the extra axle and pickup bed. Power comes from the new 4.0-liter Biturbo V-8 making 422 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque.

The Velociraptor 600, on the other hand, is a tuned version of Ford’s popular F-150 Raptor. The folks at Hennessey have worked their magic, bolting on a 2.3-liter supercharger to the Raptor’s 6.2-liter V-8. Now making 600 horsepower, the heavy truck is able to rocket to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds yet hold its own against the best desert racers on the planet.

The video might not divulge driving impressions, but it sure is fun to watch the pair get dirty.
