Back in April Top Speed reported that the luxury automaker Mercedes Benz would not produce an E63 AMG coupe. However it appears that Dr. Z has prescribed the German car builder's in house tuner AMG to skip the factory tuned regimen and go straight into making an all out light weight high performance Black Series version of the E Class coupe. The original CLK63 AMG Black Series served as the Formula 1 pace car before being replaced by the almighty SL65 AMG Black Series. Mercedes Benz even saw fit to work the Black Series magic on the compact SLK roadster.

The car will be powered by the same 6.2 Liter V8 as the smaller C63 AMG, tuned to crank out somewhere between 500 HP and 525 HP. Like all the other Black Series Mercedes Benz models, the future E63 AMG Coupe Black Series will be all about weight reduction, so expect to see lots and lots of carbon fiber going into the car's production even early on in the development process.

We can not tell you exactly when the car will be unveiled, but considering AMG is currently working on the SLS AMG super car it might take awhile, but the high performance uber"E" will definitely be worth the wait. Stay tuned for more details as they roll in.
