The extra limited SLR 722 GT was caught testing in Nurburgring. Only 21 units will be made, each priced over a million euro. The 722 GT is inspired by the 1955 300 SLR.

It is powered by a V8 engine producing 650 hp. The car weights only 2866 lbs and reaches a top speed of 209.4 mph. The 0 to 60 mph sprint is made just in 3.0 seconds.

At the Nurburgring testings, the 722 GT made a time of only 7:38 minutes. It seems that the car has some problems with the transmission and with the new running brake assembly, this is why it couldn’t get a better time than the SLR.

The next test will take place from 20 to 24 October.

so...Merc comes out with the McLaren Mercedes SLR back in 2004, in memory of the 1955 300 SL....but didn’t they make the 722 version this year in commemoration of the start time @ 7:22? So what’s the point of this, if practically ALL the cars are made to commemorate the same frickin car? Either that, or someone’s made a typo, very common thing here, considering how most of the posts have a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes...
