The current-generation Mini Cooper is in its final years as a new generation model is already on the horizon. Spy shots have already shown the next-generation Mini Cooper undergoing testing in Europe, but for now, the British automaker has unveiled the Mini Cooper Brick Lane Edition.

Named after a street in London that's famous for its graffiti and other forms of street art, the Mini Cooper Brick Lane Edition offers a British youthful style to Japanese customers. A total of 660 units will be sold, 180 of which will be the three-door Cooper hatch, another 180 are the Cooper D Clubman, and then 300 for the five-door Cooper D hatch.

Setting the Brick Lane Edition models apart from the standard Minis are its blue graphics on the hood and side profile, along with a 'B' emblem on the pillars. Complementing the blue graphics is its San Marino Blue roof, while all models come with 17- or 18-inch black alloy wheels with wheel caps that maintain an upright position, not dissimilar to a Rolls-Royce.

The three body styles are painted in different colors, with the three-door being coated in White Silver Metallic, Moonwalk Gray Metallic on the five-door, and a Mini Yours Enigmatic Black Metallic for the Clubman.

As for the interior of these special edition Minis, the 'B' or 'Brick Lane' logos can be seen on the floor mats, dashboard, and treadplates, while matte Frozen Blue accents are subtly placed on some parts of the cabin. And, as for equipment, all models come with synthetic leather upholstery, heated seats, and a suite of advanced driver-assistance tech such as adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking.

The Mini Cooper Brick Lane Editions come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder gasoline engine that produces 136 horsepower and 220 Nm (162 pound-feet) of torque for the three-door Cooper hatch or a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbo diesel that produces 114 horsepower and 270 Nm (199 pound-feet) of torque for the five-door Cooper hatch and Clubman.

The Mini Brick Lane Edition models are on sale for ¥4,330,000 (around $37,515) for the three-door Cooper Hatch, ¥4,630,000 (around $40,115) for the five-door Cooper D Hatch, and ¥4,810,000 (around $41,674) for the Cooper D Clubman, as per the exchange rates at the time of writing this article.
