• MINI’s giant cardboard boxes draws a ton of attention in Amsterdam

When MINI runs a marketing campaign, you can be sure that their ads will be anything but conventional with their latest post-Christmas marketing initiative the latest example of just how far out of the box these guys really are.

In an effort to draw attention to their brand, MINI set out and placed giant boxes in and around Amsterdam similar to what refrigerator boxes look like – the image of the product being prominently displayed on the box. Now, we’ve never heard of a car that comes in this type of packaging – for obvious reasons – so seeing something like this littered in the streets will surely generate a ton of attention.

Needless to say, these giant MINI boxes got all the attention it wanted from a number of curious passers-by wondering what an enoromous box with a MINI Cooper printed on the side is doing out on the streets.

No matter how odd their strategy is, it is still effective. They definitely had the people’s attention. Some may be laughing, but at least, they became aware that MINI exists.

well even me when i saw a huge box with a car printed on will. It will also draw my attention, this is a good idea of advertising.
