According to a thread from the 'Maverick Truck Club', Ford will open order books once again on August 16, 2022.
This is in line with our initial report that the Blue Oval brand will resume orders this summer, but at least now we have a date.
Unfortunately, the dates are also subject to change, depending on the severity of any supply issues by then, including the still-ongoing chip shortage.
This shortage of new vehicles has undeniably led to a bad case of dealer markups, and thankfully, Ford’s CEO Jim Farley isn’t happy with the situation.
Part of the appeal of the new Ford Maverick is its accessible size, but mostly it’s because of its affordable price tag and a standard hybrid powertrain that can achieve 40 mpg.
On the other hand, those who want more power can opt for the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo EcoBoost gasoline engine, which produces 250 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque.
If you're too impatient to wait for a brand-new Ford Maverick, your only option now is to find whatever’s left in dealers and pray that it matches the spec that you desire.
