Mitsubishi will unveil at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show the Concept-RA. According to AutoExpress, the concept is a preview version of a future Eclipse coupe, and shares underpinnings with Lancer Evo.

Under the hood, the Concept-RA features a 2.2-litre diesel engine mated with the firm’s Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system. Its common-rail unit features MIVEC variable valve timing to enhance fuel economy, and develops 201bhp and 420Nm of torque.

This high-tech diesel engine will also be used starting next-year in the Outlander SUV, all-new Lancer and forthcoming cX soft-roader.
