Yep, the Golf VI is still a very young model on the automotive market, but Volkswagen has already started preparing the next generation Golf. We have talked about the seventh generation before and have even seen a couple of renderings, but what we didn’t know was that it would arrive in four body versions: five-door, three-door, estate, and four-door coupe.

The seventh generation Golf will get a new exterior look, most likely inspired by the New Compact Coupé (NCC) concept, unveiled at this year’s Detroit Motor Show. The car will be built on an entirely new platform (same as for the next Passat) and will carry the same engines as the current generation, but with the addition of new petrol and diesel three-cylinder engines. A hybrid version and an electrical one are also a possibility.

Seventh generation? That is insane! They should developed a new name. Being on the 7th, it means they’re not successful from the first release to the sixth?

Look i know it takes a while to develop cars. But that’s what separates winners from losers. By the time this car comes out MOST cars will shed weight or will get much higher MPGs.

I was expecting more from the Adidas.

This is a mule car designed to look like a current model, to keep new styling cues away from public eyes. It has the wider track so now it extrudes out wider then the standard wheel arches, as that’s illegal they had to put these stick on ones while they’re testing it.

Ugly looking hatchback. Honestly, the old model of the golf is way better than this.

It looks nice but not that aggressive as the previous one.

No way! It looks than the previous one. The previous one is more sporty and aggressive specially the headlamps which are very attractive.
