The 2019 Ford Fiesta ST is one of the best hot hatchbacks in its size and price brackets, but with just 197 horsepower from the factory, the little Blue Oval pocket rocket can certainly handle more power. For those interested, Ford specialists Mountune have launched an upgrade kit that boosts the Fiesta ST’s power output by more than 20 horsepower. In a car this small, folks, you will feel it.

Mountune Boost Kit for the 2019 Ford Fiesta ST

The kit is called mTune SMARTflash m225, and it comes with an OBD connector that has Bluetooth to enable it to communicate with your phone. You also need a special app to make it all work, but the result is that you can “easily DIY install and update calibrations to your ECU using nothing more than our app, the supplied Bluetooth OBD interface, and your smartphone; no laptop, no wires, no handsets, no problem!”

So, you essentially also need the induction kit, but with it installed, Mountune says the car is not only faster, but it also sounds better and more raw, as well.

In stock form, the Fiesta ST’s 1.5-liter, three-cylinder, EcoBoost engine makes 197 horsepower and 214 pound-feet of torque. With it installed, these numbers are boosted to 222 horsepower, and torque jumps to 250 pound-feet. The Fiesta ST is already pretty quick, sprinting from naught to 100 km/h or (62 mph) in just 6.7 seconds in stock form. However, according to Mountune, with their kit installed, that time gets slashed to under six seconds, and in-gear response is improved too.

If you order the full kit, including the necessary induction kit, the price for the mTune SMARTflash m225 upgrade is £795 which equates to $1,055 or €930. The cheaper one for those who already have the airbox installed is £575 ($763 or €672).
