Just because the world’s automakers are downsizing their engine opitions doesn’t mean that you have to settle for a lesser vehicle.
Take the Audi S4 for example.
The car started out as a wonderful bi-turbo V6, but then German automaker wanted to take the entry level sedan DTM racing, so they shoehorned a V8 in between the strut towers and sold to car to the public.
The last generation RS4 was an even better car, with a 420 HP 4.2 Liter FSI engine and quattro all wheel drive system it was like an early R8 with the body on backwards.
With tighter emissions and fuel consumption becoming more an more of an issue, the current generation S4 had been reduced back to a six cylinder with a blower sitting in the "v".
