And you thought Bose was your best option for in-house quality? Think again!

When it comes to the absolute best in luxury, only a few names come to mind. I’m not talking about Mercedes or BMW luxury; I’m talking about the type of luxury that is enjoyed by an elite few with pockets deeper than the ocean. While my description could easily have you thinking “Rolls-Royce,” today I’m actually talking about Bentley. It’s no secret that Bentleys are nicer than anything most of us will have the privilege of owning, and part of the luxury that comes with a Bentley is the unparalleled sound quality from the NAIM for Bentley sound system, which is found in models like the Bentley Bentayga. To put it simply, NAIM for Bentley offers exceptional clarity that can only be appreciated by those with a very healthy love for music. Well, for those elite few, they can now have the same audio quality in their own home with the Mu-so and Mu-so qb wireless audio system.

You read all of that correctly, NAIM for Bentley has officially transitioned into a home audio system as well. And, to no surprise, the system is just as elegant as the vehicles it was once limited to. The now liberated sound system is offered in two different flavors with the entry-level Mu-so qb offering up 300 watts from a small, cubed housing. The range-topping Mu-so delivers an ear ringing 450 watts of power through six speakers. Both systems run on a 32-bit digital signal processor with softer specially tuned in Naim’s listening room.

But, it’s not just the output and sound quality that makes this the Bentley of home audio systems. See, the rotor control knobs on the units feature the same signature knurling found in Bentley cars. The speaker cabinet itself is crafted out of wood but is later covered in a fairly thick layer of anodized aluminum to give it a modern look and the ability to provide distortion-free sound. The Naim fo Bentley logo on each model will illuminate whenever the speaker is in use. So how much will it cost you to enjoy the absolute finest audio quality available? Well, the entry-level model will set you back £750 while the range-topping Mu-so commands £1,195. That computes to about $1,108 and $1,694, respectively.

Well, I really don’t know what to say about this new home audio system. I have heard the audio quality of several Bentley Models, and I do have to say it is upscale and well above my pay grade. But, is it worth spending $1,100 or $1,700 to have it in the home? Well, that’s really hard to say without actually hearing the system in a home first, but I have a feeling it certainly won’t disappoint. Well, it better not, anyway. These speakers are one of those things that are designed with Bentley customers and fanboys in mind, so don’t expect to see Naim for Bentley in too many homes near year. Either way, it’s a pretty cool offering from Bentley, and I suspect we’ll see more of things like this in the future. What do you think? Is it worth the asking price? Customers can browse and play millions of songs via Spotify, internet radio or Airplay, or simply stream downloaded music.

The rich aural experience, which fills up to five rooms simultaneously, will be familiar to Bentley owners from the best-in-class Naim for Bentley audio systems, available to customers on all models.

The design of the Naim for Bentley Mu-so and Mu-so qb reflects 100 years of Bentley heritage and craftsmanship. The rotary control features Bentley’s signature knurling. The wooden speaker cabinet is wrapped in a layer of anodised aluminium to provide a natural sound free from distortion, and the grille is finished in Portland, a signature colour from the exclusive Bentley palette.

The premium patterned aluminium casework matches the Naim for Bentley speaker grille motif in the Bentley Bentayga. On the contemporary acrylic base, a Naim for Bentley logo is subtly illuminated when the speaker is turned on.

The Mu-so – which has been tuned by specialist engineers – reflects Bentley’s own passion for high-performance engineering. It delivers 450 watts of power through six high-quality speakers. A 32-bit digital signal processor runs software tuned in Naim’s listening room to extract the finest delivery of streamed music.

The compact Mu-so qb, which can stream music on its own (or be linked with the Mu-so), delivers 300 watts to create a sound that defies its smaller size.

The Naim for Bentley Mu-so is priced at £1,195 ($1,694 (excl. local taxes)); and the Mu-so qb at £750 ($1,108 (excl. local taxes)).
