We’re expecting a new-generation Ford F-150 pickup truck to make a debut this year as a 2021 model, after 2019 taught us that FoMoCo sent a full fleet of pre-production prototypes out in the wild for testing purposes.

While the test mules didn’t exactly throw a lot of light onto the new F-150 topic, we spotted a new mesh grille design with a single cross-bar splitting it in half horizontally. There’s also talk about a Raptor-badged 2021 F-150 and it’s this one that led to one particular pixel manipulator coming up with his vision of an incoming F-150 Raptor.

NO, this is not the new F-150 Raptor, but we’d love it if Ford made it this way

Before we get to the point, we know a new F-150 is coming and above that, it will also come with a gas-hybrid powertrain but also in pure electric form. Obviously, Ford still has some work to do on those, but at the same time it’s in the Blue Oval’s best interest to keep its best-selling products in tip-top shape.

Coming back to the rendering, we can’t stress this enough, because the internet is full of fake news: this is not the upcoming F-150 Raptor. This is not a Ford-commissioned rendering, but just the pure imagination and creativity of Mo Aoun.

But if you’re really into 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor-related rumors, then know that Motor1 has it on good authority (aka “reliable source familiar to our staff) that the new F-150 will get an evolutionary design but still sit on the same 2014 architecture. What’s more, the Raptor version of the new F-150 is also coming, with sales kicking off in the summer of 2021.

Wilder voices even suggest that the 2021 F-150 Raptor might ditch the current turbocharged EcoBoost V-6 in favour of a more American-bred V-8 - more specifically, the supercharged 5.2-liter mill found inside the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500, where it cranks out 760 horsepower and 625 pound-feet of twist. The current Raptor makes do with a 3.5-liter V-6 good for 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque that run to all four wheels through a 10-speed SelectShift automatic gearbox.

That said, check out the rendering and let us know what you think of it. We’d love the new F-150 Raptor to look like this, how about you?
