In a recent interview, Horacio Pagani offered new details on the future C9 supercar. According to him the future Pagani is the same as the Bugatti Veyron as far as price and collectibility go, but at the same time the two models can’t be considered competitors because, even though they are sold to similar customers, they are two very different cars.

He also said that the "C9 is a completely new car, designed from the ground up, so it doesn’t share anything in common with the Zonda. We have started work on this project since as early as 2003 and the final production version will be released at the end of this year. Naturally, we hope it will have at a similar success as the Pagani Zonda."

Under the hood there will be a completely new V12 specially created for the C9. The engine will be mated to a new transmission with a single clutch.

And even if he didn’t offer up the name for the car he did confirm that it will have an appropriate meaning (Zonda is a type of wind from the Argentinean Andes mountains).

Oh yes!A expected from Pagani. All there cars have a great speed including the Zonda. And its a good thing that they been using a more modern technology like a V12.

Although this car doesn’t have an impressive platform, Well, its speed performance is great that it could actually blast in the race track!

That was amazing. I’m speechless. Fantastic review for Pagani!

If pagani is competing with veyron in terms of price and performance there is no doubt many will pick the veyron veyron is more reliable than the pagani c9.

I assume it means the car will look very similar to the current model only smaller. Think mini-me from the Austin Powers movies he looks the same but is proportionally smaller. Am I right, Viknesh?

Pagani never ceases to amaze me, I was impressed by the 20ms shift time on the Zonda R. This is really impressive.

Many reviews that the pagani is an unreliable sports car. It easily breaks the suspension and the clutch is not that good.

The fact that it will have a single-clutch tranny rather than the increasingly popular yet unreliable double clutches out there is hopefully indicative of a bigger effort in the reliability department for Pagani. Also, it’s good to know that Pagani will be developing a specific motor for the car, rather than the problematic Mercedes V12 the Zonda uses. The current car already has the exclusivity and luxury it needs, so fix the reliability and stiffen up the chassis and somewhat soft (for its power level) suspension and the benchmark One-77 and LFA may have a challenger.
