Porsche is gearing up for the release of the next-gen Porsche 911, also known as the 992, and while we’ve seen a few test mules before, they’re usually sporting some kind of body cladding to hide their true identity. Not so with this latest tester, which was just spotted in Michigan wearing nothing but a production-ready body!

This rather stealthy 911 test mule was spied braving the rainy and snow-lined streets on an interstate near Detroit, Michigan. However, it obviously wasn’t stealthy enough, as a short video of it cruising along was posted to Instagram, showing off the Stuttgart superstar’s rear three quarters.
Interestingly, the user who shot the video, Jeff Hammoud, is the VP of Design at Rivian, so he clearly has an eye for this sort of thing.
Although it’s rocking all-black paint in less-than-ideal conditions, you can still make out the 992’s new taillights and spoiler, as well as the car’s incredibly wide hips. We’re also seeing a new vehicle architecture under the skin.
Deliveries of the 992-era 911 are expected to commence sometime next year.
