We've seen the upcoming Porsche 911 in so many spy shots that the official unveiling will be nothing more than a formal event about tech features and drivetrain specs. If you haven't seen enough though, our paparazzi just sent us another batch of pictures, this time around from the Nurburgring track. Not surprisingly, Porsche is honing the new-generation 911 on Germany's iconic race track.

Just like in previous spy shots, the 992-generation 911 sports no camouflage with the exception of thin strips of tape on the taillights. The same goes for the rear end, where we can take a closer look at the bigger exhaust pipes integrated into the diffuser and the thin taillights that stretch the entire width of the fascia.

The only new details we can glance at is the active spoiler. In these shots, we can see it raised from the body as the 911 brakes before taking high-speed turns on the 'Ring. The spoiler sits flush on the body when not in use. This isn't a brand-new feature on the 911; especially the way it raises away from the body when activated.

Just like its predecessor, it will use turbocharged engines only, even in base Carrera trim. Word has it that the GT3 model will also ditch naturally aspirated engines in favor of forced induction. Porsche is also working on a hybrid drivetrain for the 911, a premiere for the iconic sports car.
