If you've been following us, you know that the upcoming Porsche 911 GT3 is no longer a mystery. We spotted the track-prepped 911 on public roads numerous times and recent sightings include an almost camo-free car. We've also seen leaked photos with the GT3's interior, so we're basically waiting for Porsche to spill the beans and tell us more about what's under the rear hood. But the Germans are still fine tuning the 911 GT3, which we spotted once again, this time around alongside the cool Cayman GT4 RS.

The 992-generation 911 GT3 is again camo-free, but it seems Porsche is actually using a black foil to mask the bodywork. We were able to spot this when the driver left the door open, revealing the car's true color to be a light blue. That's probably Miami Blue or something similar, but definitely not an exclusive hue.

So what's new on the 992 911 GT3? Well, aside from the changes that come with the 911's redesign, the GT3 brings forward the usual package with larger vents and improved aerodynamics.

It's actually a tad smaller and features a plane mounted on reverse L-shaped posts, a change from the traditional wing setup of the GT3 model. It also features a bigger spoiler integrated into the engine lid, as well as a redesigned splitter in the rear bumper.

The cabin is pretty much a beefed-up 911 Carrera, featuring a digital instrument cluster and a bigger infotainment display. Highlights include a race-inspired steering wheel and carbon-fiber seats with integrated headrests. There's also a race-spec roll-cage, contrast stitching, and Alcantara over most of the surfaces.

Despite rumors that the GT3 will be turbocharged, the track car will in fact retain the naturally aspirated flat-six engine. The output of the 4.0-liter engine is unknown as of this writing, but it will generate more than the old 911 GT3, rated at 493 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of twist.

Given that the previous GT3 was as powerful as the GT3 RS before it, the 992 GT3 could match the output of the old 991.2 GT3 RS. This means that it could come with 513 horsepower and 347 pound-feet of twist on tap. Porsche could also upgrade the engine further, but don’t expect it to deliver more than 525 horsepower.

The 911 GT3 will continue to feature a manual transmission, but a PDK will also be offered if you fancy a two-pedal setup and quicker acceleration.

The 992-generation 911 GT3 should debut in the first months of 2021.
