You might already know that Ford is taking under consideration a successor for the GT supercar. Now there are new rumors suggesting that the next model will in fact feature a hybrid powertrain. The new model will follow the same direction as the GT40 and the GT, but will feature a more advance technology available to deliver massive straight-line performance. Ferrari and Lamborghini will have lots of reasons to fear when the new model will be launched.

The exterior design will be distinguished by a huge front air intake, angular headlights and vents in the bonnet and flanks. But of course the most impressive features will be under the hood: a supercharged V8 engine with be combined with an electric motor driving the front wheels. With a total output of around 600 HP and a total weight of 1400 kilos, the new GT will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3 seconds, while top speed will be in the 200 mph area.

Yeah, I think that was a muscle car/coupe. However, I find the car so powerful and the speed performance is quite amazing!

Well, I would mind if Ford did jump into the hybrid bandwagon. In fact, I would actually welcome it, since they are one of the few manufacturers yet to introduce a hybrid model.

Just when I was starting to be able to stand Ford again, they rip out the hearts of Ford enthusiasts the world around by even contemplating this. What’s next? Bringing back the 4-cyl. Mustang? I guess Chevy is the only American brand not selling out these days.

Now it seems that Ford stepping up into the next level. GT supercar is based from their 1960’s glorious design. And what’s so amazing, we can’t see any old touch from the GT.

Ford, Please don’t. The GT was such a great car, you don’t want to ruin the design, especially with a hybrid.
