With the $600,000 Mercedes McLaren SLR selling like blood sausages at an ashram, McLaren and Mercedes may collaborate on a new model. Possibly related to the P8 mid-engined supercar project, which was reported shelved last year, the new car would be badged as a McLaren, not a Mercedes-Benz, and built at McLaren’s Woking plant — home to both the SLR and the McLaren F1 team. According to the report by GrandPrix.com, the product would be closer in scope to the erstwhile McLaren F1 than to the SLR.
