In a day and age where add-on packages and accessories have become commonplace in the auto industry, Nissan is doing its part to ensure that its customers are taken cared of in that regard. The Japanese automaker unveiled its Midnight Edition package last year on the Maxima sedan and after incessant public demand. In fact, 85 percent of Maxima SR sales come with the Midnight Edition package. Nissan is now expanding the availability of the package to six of its current models, including the Maxima.

Together with Nissan’s full-sized sedan, the Midnight Edition package is now available on the Altima, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, and Sentra.

Naturally, the specific changes vary depending on the model. The Sentra, for example, gets a set of 17-inch wheels as opposed to the Pathfinder, which finds itself on the receiving end of a bigger set of 20-inch wheels. But by and large, the blacked-out theme of the package remains consistent across all models.

Prices also vary depending on which model is getting the package, although for the most part, Nissan’s keeping the extra costs relatively affordable as the most expensive versions of the package. The ones for the Altima, Murano, and Pathfinder all cost $1,195. The expanded Midnight Edition package is making its debut at the 2017 Chicago Auto Show. And with the exception of the Rogue Midnight Edition, all other editions are already on sale. The package for the Rogue will be available beginning in March 2017.

What model gets what

There is something to be said for consumer demand and we’re seeing that in full display with Nissan’s decision to expand its Midnight Edition package. The Japanese automaker initially offered the package specifically for the Maxima SR, but demand for the treatment soared to the point that Nissan couldn’t ignore it anymore. So the company did what anybody in its position would do: it acquiesced to the demands and expanded the Midnight Edition package.

And so, here we are. If you want to check out which Nissan model gets what as part of its Midnight Edition package, check it out below.

Nissan Sentra SR Midnight Edition

The cheapest of the Midnight Edition packages is for SR and SR Turbo variants of the 2017 Nissan Sentra and it includes goodies like black mirror caps, a black rear spoiler, Midnight Edition floor mats, and a new set of 17-inch Midnight Black aluminum-alloy wheels. The cost of the whole package is $490, a suitable deal considering the number of add-ons that are included for Nissan’s compact sedan.

Nissan Altima SR Midnight Edition

Once more, the Midnight Edition package is only available for the SR variant of the Nissan Altima, which in this case would be the 2017 Altima 2.5 SR. Considering its more upscale nature compared to the Sentra, the package for the Altima comes with a few more creature comforts, including new LED headlights and remote engine start. Beyond these two additions, the package also features a black rear spoiler, black mirror caps, Midnight Edition floor mats, and a new set of 18-inch Midnight Edition aluminium-alloy wheels shod in 234/45R18 all-season tires. The total cost of the package amounts to $990.

Nissan Rogue Midnight Edition

This package is for Nissan’s resident compact SUV, which also happens to be its best-selling model. As such, no expansion of the Midnight Edition package happens without the Rogue being a part in it. It’s a good thing then that Nissan smartly included the Rogue in the mix as the package comes with familiar add-ons like the black mirror caps and the set of 17-inch Midnight Edition aluminum-alloy wheels. In addition, the Midnight Edition package for the compact SUV also includes roof rails, cross bars, and splash guards, all of which are finished in black. A rear bumper protector and illuminated kick plates complete the list of extra accessories that are available specifically for the Rogue SV trim. The cost of the whole package adds up to $990 and availability will begin in March 2017.

Nissan Murano Midnight Edition

Just as the Nissan Rogue was the beneficiary of a Midnight Edition package on account of it being the best-selling Nissan model, the Nissan Murano also gets in on the fun for being the company’s halo model for its crossovers and SUVs. It doesn’t sell as well as the Rogue, but the Murano is one of the fastest-growing models in the company so there’s significant equity on the SUVs part to get its own Midnight Edition package. As far as the upgrades are concerned, the package for the Murano Platinum trim includes black roof rails, black mirror caps, black splash guards, Midnight Edition floor mats, and an exclusive set of 20-inch Midnight Edition aluminium-alloy wheels. It’s also worth mentioning that the Murano’s Midnight Edition package is available in a choice of different body colors of the SUV, including Pearl White, Cayenne Red, Gun Metallic and Magnetic Black. The cost of all these goodies amount to $1,195, the most expensive of all the packages that are being offered for Nissan models.

Nissan Pathfinder Midnight Edition

Nissan’s full-sized SUV is also in on the Midnight Edition package love. Among the upgrades featured in the Pathfinder’s package include black mirror caps, black splash guards, a black spoiler, illuminated kick plates, a chrome rear bumper protector, Midnight Edition floor mats, and an exclusive set of 20-inch black Midnight Edition aluminium-alloy wheels. Just like the Murano Midnight Edition, the Pathfinder Midnight Edition costs $1,195.
