Nissan is considering a Convertible version of its new Altima, unveiled in 2006 at Los Angeles Auto Show. If will be produced the new Altima Convertible will compete with models like: Toyota Solara, Chrysler Sebring, and the newcomer Pontiac G6.

On the question if the company would approve a model like this, Sean Blankenship, senior manager of Nissan marketing said "I'd love that!"

Based on the Altima Coupe platform, and with the engineering work already done and the sheet metal created, a convertible is a very easy job for Nissan.
