While more and more companies are focusing on developing small city cars, Nissan->ke62 is jetting in a completely opposite way by working on their sports cars. This comes much to our delight, obviously, because we can only take so many of those boring slowpokes driving around. Nissan's future will hold a prominent place for their new GT-R->ke1592 coupe as well as a brand spanking new sports car. In fact, a facelift version for the GT-R is already in development and will come with an output of 530 HP!

When talking with Autocar, Toshiyuki Shiga, said: "The GT-R is part of Nissan’s heritage. In fact, since Nissan started as a car company, it has been offering driving pleasure through sports cars. I can’t commit to any new products but, as far as we know, we are keeping this brand, these technologies, and trying to offer sporty cars. I am also thinking of electric vehicles as sporty cars. The market is shifting, becoming more environmentally friendly, so maybe now there is a possibility that even a 100 per cent electric vehicle can be a sports car. We have already developed Infiniti hybrid cars which are quite exciting"

As we patiently wait for details on Nissan's new sports car, we can offer more details on the future GT-R->ke1592. It will come with a modified front bumper, rear diffuse, and rear underspoiler, offering 10% more downforce. There will also be modifications made to the suspensions, brakes, wheels, and tires.

So far it looks like Nissan is on to something good, and we definitely like the direction they're going; environmental awareness along with the ever popular speed factor. Let's see if they can pull it off.
