Two weeks ago we were telling you about the launch of the one of a kind Mustang AV8R named after the famous P-51 Mustang fighter, which played a key role in World War II as a bomber escort. Today we found out that the vehicle was sold for $500,000 at the Gathering of Eagles charity auction. The money will be used to support the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Oshkosh youth education and inspirational experience program. For those who don’t know, the car is based on the 2009 Mustang->ke428 GT has a 4.6-liter, 24-valve V-8 engine capable to develop 400 horsepower and features autographs from aviation legends and notable enthusiasts like Edsel B.
