Automotive news reports that certain Onstar subscribers will lose their service due to outdated analog telematics equipment. The percentage of people with outdate analog equipment comes out to "10 percent" of users, or in a total of "500,000" users. The switch from analog to digital definitely is hurting consumers in the United States.

What are customers with the outdate systems suppose to do now? This i very much bad news because it will leave customers without the emergency response sytem featured in Onstar Equipped Vehicles. It would cost too much for GM to recall all of these vehicles, so maybe consumers themselves can have the analog equipment replaced to digital on their own.

If you are one of these unfortunate people , let us know about your experience at Topspeed.com.
