Our spy photographers capture cars and prototypes from many mainstream automakers regularly. You even get to see test mules from brands like Ferrari. But, it’s not every day that you get to see a prototype draped in camouflage from a supercar marque like Pagani! And, that is exactly why the spy shots we’ve received now are special and exciting.

There were hushed talks about a new Pagani supercar being under development, but we now have proof that it is. Ladies and gentlemen, presenting to you, the Pagani C10!

A Modern Car With Retro-Inspired Touches

The C10, its codename, for the time being, is technically the Huayra’s successor, but clearly looks to be inspired by the Zonda. Don’t get us wrong, we aren’t complaining. The flat and low front fascia with a triangular countenance, the silhouette, the vertically slotted taillights, and even the M134 machine gun-esque exhaust setup is a throwback to the Zonda. Even the headlights, mounted on the fender and wrapped in a single cluster, are an ode to the special one-off version of the Zonda, the 760 LM. But, there are some hints of the Huayra also. For instance, the front grille.

A new supercar from Pagani Automobili Modena was anyway on the cards, considering how long in the tooth the Huayra has been. There’s no concrete information on the engine yet, but the C10 is likely to be powered by an AMG-sourced V-12 mill, displacing six liters, that churns out around 850-880 horsepower. A manual transmission could be offered as optional.

Will this be electrified? Given where the industry is headed, we will say yes. Not to mention, this model could have a long run, if the Huayra’s 10-year life is anything to go by, which points at this model being electrified at some point in the future. As MotorAuthority noted, Pagani could borrow the electric powertrain from the new kid around the block – Lucid Motors. Lucid's main shareholder is Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund which purchased a 30-percent stake in Pagani in 2021. Lucid has already impressed us by offering up to 1,111 horsepower in its only creation so far, the Air. If a family car can have that much power, imagine how much a supercar could!

But, that said, we don’t have any proof of an electric version in the works. Until then, let’s cherish the V-12 heart of this supercar. In all likelihood, this will be the last internal combustion-engined car from Pagani.

Final Thoughts

The new Pagani supercar will get a new name, but until then, we’ll also stick to calling it the C10. We expect Pagani to continue the tradition of naming the cars related to wind, as it has with the Zonda and the Huayra.

We won’t have to wait too long for that because the C10 is expected to be launched in the summer of this year as a 2023 model at the Leonardo da Vinci museum in Milan, Italy. It is also rumored to be a low-production model, probably limited to 300 examples as per reports. This could include the special editions, the convertibles, coupes, and all of them. The deliveries are expected to commence in 2023.
