The successor will even have a manual transmission

Pagani has always been a one-car-at-a-time producer, but a new report says that the revered automaker will actually turnout two cars alongside one another. One car will be an EV, a car that was confirmed by none other than head honcho, Horacio Pagani, who said there is a team of 20 people working on the project. That model is due by 2025, but it’s not the only big piece of news coming out of Pagani today. A news site known as Autodato claims that Pagani is developing a successor to the Huayra that will have, among other things, the option for a manual transmission.

Pagani will continue to offer cars with internal combustion engines, as long as there is customer demand.

This is a lot of news to digest, and it does come from multiple sources, but the reports seem legitimate. The news about the EV, in fact, came from an interview with Argentinian television company El Tres. In the interview, he also stated that the brand will continue to offer cars with internal combustion engines, as long as there is customer demand.

Back to that Huayra successor, Autodato says that it will still feature a Mercedes-AMG V-12 as is the norm from Pagani, but will offer up the choice between a manually operated transmission and an all-out, full-manual box. The latter, as you can imagine, is also thanks to customer demand – much like the brand’s continuation of offering gasoline-powered vehicles in the future. This is, of course, a play out of Porsche’s playbook who also caved to customer pressure to offer a manual transmission.

On the plus side, and unlike some super- and hypercar manufacturers, Pagani doesn’t have intent to offer autonomous technology – a statement that is like music to our ears as the industry continues to shift toward semi-autonomous and self-driving cars.

The move to produce both an EV and a successor to the Huayra is a huge development as the brand has always stuck to one model at a time.

More interesting than any of this, arguably, is the fact that the brand will produce more than one car at a time. The move to produce both an EV and a successor to the Huayra is a huge development as the brand has always stuck to one model at a time.

For now, that’s all we know about either of the upcoming models, but one this is for sure – the next 5 to 7 years are going to be epic for Pagani, and we can’t wait to see what the brand comes up with.
