A drag race between pick-up trucks may not seem like the most sensible thing, but who cares?
But just in case you are wondering, Sam CarLegion has arranged for these two brutes to throw down at the drag strip and find out who's quickest at the quarter-mile
RAM 1500 T RX
The RAM is equipped with the well-known Hellcat V-8 engine. The 6.2-liter supercharged OHV V-8 puts out 702 hp and 650 lb/ft to all four wheels, through an F 8-speed automatic. It also weighs a lot - 6,350 lbs
Ford F150 Roush
The Ford F150 has been touched by the same people who work on Ford's NASCAR racecars. The 5.0-liter DOHC V-8 has been supercharged. It now makes 650 hp and 610 lb/ft. Power is sent to all four wheels, through a 10-speed automatic. It weighs 4,850 lbs
While you d expect the heavier vehicle to lose the race, that's not how it went down this time
The RAM TRX wins 4 out of 4 races convincingly thanks to its savage, pushrod V-8
The Ford F150 Roush wasn't even close
You'd expect the lighter weight and 2 extra gears to give the Ford a bigger advantage. However, the F150 just couldn't keep up

Could the old 6.2-liter Ford V-8 have performed better against the RAM TRX?
