Slowly but surely, the Geneva Motor Show approaches. True, we're still over a month from seeing the doors swing open in Switzerland for the world's biggest auto show, but that isn't stopping some of the braver automakers from teasing us with what's to come. The latest comes from Pininfarina, which just dropped a pair of teaser images showing off its latest green-minded design study.

The Full Story

Note: Pininfarina H600 concept pictured here.

The latest concept is the product of a joint collaboration between Pininfarina and Hybrid Kinetic Group, and arrives as the fourth creation offered by the two groups. The last time we saw a Pininfarina/HKG concept was at last year's Geneva Motor Show, where we got an eye-full of the H600, as shown above. The H600 was a sleek sedan packing loads of tech under the skin and in the cabin, with as much as 800 horsepower claimed for output levels.

Prior to the H600, we saw efforts like the K550 SUV and K750, both of which bowed in Shanghai last year.

For those of you who may be unaware, Pininfarina is best known as the Italian design house responsible for penning some of the most epic Ferraris ever created, including standouts like the 1967 275 GTB4, the 1972 Dino 246 GTS, and the Sergio, among many, many others. But Pininfarina is more than just its Ferrari designs – the firm also provided design work for Alfa Romeo, Peugeot, Maserati, and several others.

The Hybrid Kinetic Group is less well-known. Founded in 1995 in Hong Kong, HKG handles all the mechanical and electric bits under the Italian-designed body panels, which makes for a potentially potent combination.

And that brings us to the new concept seen here. Pininfarina presents it as an opulent grand tourer, one of those old Italian standbys the company has refined to the next level in terms of artistry and beauty. But rather than the sonorous soundtrack of a high-strung V-12 echoing out the rear end, this thing comes packing with and all-electric powertrain.

“Time has come for a new Pininfarina masterpiece combining stylistic research with environmental sustainability,” the design house posts to Facebook.

To stoke the flames of excitement, Pininfarina is giving us a set of two teaser images.

The first shows the car's rear three-quarter angle, with velvety shapes and broad curves. The cab is set towards the rear of the vehicle, falling into the tail with a roof line similar to what we saw with the H600 sedan. The hood line looks long, and comes with large vent placed just behind the front wheel. The taillights are slim, while the side-view mirrors look to consist of rear-facing cameras that undoubtedly feed live views into the cabin space.

The second image shows the interior of the concept, and what appears to be the rear +2 bench. The seats are practically carved out of the rear, with brushed metal details and quilted upholstery upping the fanciness levels. A slim center console stretches back to offer controls for the infotainment system, while touch-sensitive panels can be found along the doors.

Could this thing see the light of day as a production model? Perhaps. Word has it the H600 could go on sale as soon as 2020, so if this thing is a hit, who knows?
