If you got all excited about a possible collaboration between Koenigsegg and Polestar, like we did yesterday, it's time to calm down because they're not working on a state-of-the-art vehicle together. According to Polestar, the teasers the two brands shared on social media are just for a promotional video for the Gemera and the Precept concept.

He told Car and Driver that there will be "nothing at all" and that the company's designers "are quite friendly and decided to have some fun with cars for everyone to enjoy." So the teasers, including the Koenigsegg Gemera and the Polestar Precept, are just previews of a promotional video that will be released on June 25.

While the statement suggests that the two Swedish automakers have a good relationship, it's not completely out of the question for them to share technology or build a car together in the future. Both are now working on fully electric or electrified vehicles, and the future could see them join efforts for some sort of global car. For now, though, they're just showcasing a couple of cars together.

Koenigsegg will feature the Gemera in this video. But while other Koenigseggs are powered by V-8 engines, the Gemera features a 2.0-liter three-cylinder that's quite revolutionary. The tiny mill is paired to three electric motors that generate a combined 1,677 horsepower and 2,581 pound-feet of torque.

Polestar will showcase the Precept concept. It's packed with state-of-the-art technology and a fully digital interior, while its exterior design is a big departure from Volvo's current styling language. The Precept is a fully electric concept, but Polestar has yet to release specifics beyond info on a big battery that will deliver high performance and competitive range.
