Porsches that know how to get down and dirty in the name of speed are extremely sexy to us. Thank God then for strapping men like Teamspeed forum member, Fred, who entered his Porsche 997 GT3 RS at the recently-concluded Goldrush Rally at the Salt Flats in Utah.

The combination of the Porsche 997 GT3 RS and the location of the rally - you couldn't pick a better place to whet your need for speed than at the Salt Flats - makes this three-minute video a must-watch for anybody who's ever had a remote interest in watching the world's fastest cars put their reputations on the line, all in the name of pushing their cars to the absolute limit.

Of course, we are unaware if Fred has tweaked his engine to his speedy liking - although we would guess that he absolutely did - but the standard Porsche->ke1 911 GT3 RS has a 3.8L engine producing 450hp with an output of 118hp per liter. The maximum torque is 317 lb.-ft. at 6,250 rpm. It makes the 0-60mph sprint in 4.0 seconds with a top track speed of 194 mph.
