Porsche has now given their Cayenne midsize SUV the Platinum Edition treatment for the 2022 model year. Scheduled to arrive in U.S. dealers in the Summer of 2022, the Platinum Edition models supposedly add an "even more stylish appearance and an attractive value proposition" to the Cayenne lineup.

Setting the Cayenne Platinum Edition apart from other variants are its Satin Platinum exterior elements, namely the grilles of the lower air intakes, the rear Porsche typeface, and Cayenne emblems, and even the 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels that are exclusive to this variant.

Other exterior details of the Cayenne Platinum Edition are the gloss black window trim, black sport tailpipes, contributing to the model's subtle and elegant design theme. Equally subtle are the color choices: Jet Black, Carrara White, Mahogany, Moonlight Blue, and the special color Crayon. Two solid colors, black and white, are also available.

Moving inside, the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition also sports an elegant and sophisticated interior theme. The combination of black and silver is definitely subtle, but it's one that's sure to age well over time. The black interior is complemented by Chalk seatbelts, textured aluminum interior trims, and brushed aluminum door sills with "Platinum Edition" engraving.

As mentioned earlier, the Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition is being touted by the German automaker for its "value proposition". As such, it comes generously equipped with LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, a panoramic sunroof, Bose sound system, ambient LED lighting, 8-way adjustable front sport seats, and embossed Porsche crests on all headrests. Of course, if these still aren't enough for you, you can consult what customization options Porsche Manufaktur has in store.

The Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition is available in three engine choices. The base Cayenne gets the 3.0-liter turbo V-6 that produces 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque, while the Cayenne E-Hybrid uses that same engine and then fuses it with an electric motor that gives it a combined output of 456 horsepower and 516 pound-feet. Lastly, there's also a Cayenne S that uses a smaller 2.9-liter turbo V-6 that produces 434 horsepower and 406 pound-feet.

The Cayenne is the second Porsche in the current lineup that received the Platinum Edition treatment, with the first one being the Panamera a few months earlier as a way to combat Taycan cannibalism. Order books are now open for the Cayenne Platinum Edition with the following prices:
