Porsche->ke1 models are arguably some of the most factory-customizable vehicles on the market, but that didn't stop the Germans from introducing a range of new options for the Panamera->ke1840 sedan and the Cayenne->ke212 and Macan->ke4210 crossovers. The new features are offered via Porsche Exclusive, the division responsible for a wide array of bespoke models ranging from the Boxster->ke570 to the Cayenne, and the list includes enhancements for both the exterior and the cabin, as well as a new exhaust system.

The biggest news here is the availability of the Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment system for all Panamera models. The feature that debuted in the Panamera Turbo S Exclusive Series, a limited-edition, U.S.-spec sedan built in only 100 units, adds two high-resolution 10.1-inch color touchscreen displays in the front-seat backrests. An integrated DVD player, two USB ports, an SD card slot and an HDMI port provide connection to a wide range of devices, while an integrated camera allows video telephony. The entertainment system also features internet connectivity and mobile access. The system will retail from €3,082.10 (around $3,234 as of 03/13/2015) in Germany.

New Exhaust and Alloy Wheels

For the Macan, Porsche Exclusive offers a new optional sports exhaust system that delivers a more aggressive note thanks to a modified rear silencer. Available in black or silver, the new exhaust features chrome exhaust tips and it is activated using a separate button on the center console. One push is all it takes for the crossover to roar like a sports car under throttle. The bad news is the new exhaust is exclusive to the Macan S Diesel. Pricing is set at €2,403.80 (about $2,523).

The Cayenne on the other hand, gets a couple exterior goodies designed to enhance its sporty looks. Porsche Exclusive offers new Sport Classic design, five-spoke, alloy wheels finished in either GT Silver Metallic, Platinum or high-gloss black. The rims measure 21 inches and are complemented by a set of bespoke wheel-arch extenders painted in either the same color as the wheels or the exterior color of the car. Pricing for this package is not yet available, but expect a sticker of around €2,000 (about $2,100).

Why it matters

Granted, the Panamera, Macan and Cayenne received some new cool features with this Porsche Exclusive update, but it’s a bit disappointing that only the Macan S Diesel gets the throatier exhaust. At least the Germans were wise enough to offer the Porsche Rear Seat Entertainment system as an option across the Panamera range. The fact that it doesn’t come standard on the range-topping Turbo and Turbo S models helps the uber-expensive Exclusive Series retains its special status, though I have a feeling that may change pretty soon.
