The last time Porsche->ke1 made an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show, George W. Bush was still the president of the United States, Michael Jackson was still alive, and Cash for Clunkers was still a thing of the imagination. All of these things might seem like ages ago, but the truth is, we’re only talking about the past three years.

Yep, 2007 was the last year Porsche was seen on the grounds of the Detroit Auto Show, but all that’s about to change this year after the German sportscar maker announced their intention to return after being conspicuously absent for the past three years.

We figured that at some point, this would happen. We just didn’t expect it to be this long. After all, the Detroit Auto Show->ke222 is one of the biggest of its kind in North America and traditionally, or at least before the financial crisis struck, all the big brands always made certain of having their presence known during the event.

And now that the auto industry has rebounded nicely, it looks like we’re going to be seeing the heavyweights – with Porsche being the first - book their return tickets to Detroit.
