Nowadays businesses spring up nearly every other week selling tunes or aftermarket parts to make supercars or luxury cars even faster or more luxurious. There are just as many that offer aesthetic changes to various models from Ferrari, Lamborghini, numerous German marques, and the occasional Japanese tuner. Now though, Prior Design, one of the original big-name body kit manufacturers, is expanding its catalog to include the Porsche Taycan, and this widebody is actually not that bad.

What sets this wide body apart from the others?

The first thing is that this kit is only available for the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S to make sure you are not mistaken for the peasants in their "base model" Taycans.

That being said, the kit will not fit on models that have been selected with the SportDesign front bumper. On top of that, the kit will fit on the base Taycan, Taycan 4, and Taycan 4S, but only after they have the front and rear bumper from the turbo versions swapped on.

The kit itself is made from high-quality fiberglass, as opposed to other kits which tend to be made of sheet metal or carbon fiber. This means that not only will the car not gain much weight, but also that the installation should be quicker and cheaper since less preparation is needed to paint the kit in whatever color you choose.

Prior Design's Body Kit For the Taycan Looks Decent

Indeed we do. The front end features a new front splitter that extends down past the bottom of the standard front bumper and has small built-in canards. That leads us to the wide-body fenders, and boy, do they look good. The front fender flares feature a vent that appears to have some brake-cooling effect, but no word if that is what they do, if anything.

The front and rear fenders are reminiscent of past Liberty Walk kits in that they wrap around existing body panels, such as the battery charge port cover. The rears especially, as they have those little tails that do not protrude onto the rear bumper.

Side skirts are a piece that some body kit manufacturers seem to forget. Not Prior Design though, they took the liberty of installing massive Need For Speed: Underground style skirts that stick out from the body. Lastly, the rear bumper is mostly unchanged, except for a massive diffuser and a small lip spoiler.

If you feel so inclined, you can buy certain bits and pieces of the kit, or the whole thing. The front splitter and diffuser will set you back €1,590 ($1,581) each, the side skirts €1,490 ($1,482), the rear lip spoiler €890 ($885), and the widened fenders a massive €8,950 ($8,902).
