RAM 1500 TRX Takes On An A90 Supra In A 1/4 Mile Face-off - gallery

The Drag Racing And Car Stuff youtube channel recently put out a video of an A90 Supra take on a RAM TRX 1500 in a 1/4 mile showdown. Now, I can't really confirm the exact specs of the vehicles

The TRX is the most extreme version of the RAM 1500 pickup

IN stock form, the TRX features a 6.2-liter HEMI V-8 that produces 720 hp & 650 lb-ft of torque. So it's double the power of the A90, but it also weighs twice as much, tipping the scales at 6350 lbs

Having reviewed the numbers (sort of) let's talk a look at how the AWD vs RWD showdown unfolds. From the looks of it, you feel as though the driver in the A90 gave the TRX a hit

The driver in the truck had a fantastic reaction time, and the Supra finally got underway after what seemed like an eternity

The A90 still just about managed to catch the TRX with 50 feet to spare, punching in a time of 11.70 seconds at 120.26 mph, while the TRX managed 12.32 seconds at 109.29 mph to do the standing quarter

So quite close then. Although the Supra just about managed to clinch this one, the physics-defying performance of the TRX just baffles me and boy does it sound good as well. Swipe Up to read more.
