Ram Trucks has set another record, though this one is a bit eccentric. Owners from seven U.S. states and Canada descended upon Arlington, Texas this past weekend to participate in the “Ram Truck Round-up” parade. In doing so, Ram set a new world record, having 451 pickup trucks in a single line.

The event correlated with the 50th anniversary of the Academy of Country Music Awards, which Ram is the “official truck” of. The number easily surpasses the previous record of 438 trucks and grew to an impressive 3.2 miles long.

“Our hard-working Ram truck owners are passionate and loyal, and today they proved once again that everything is always bigger in Texas,” said Bob Hegbloom, President and CEO of Ram Truck Brand. Hegbloom points out that Ram is the fasted growing truck brand in Texas – a place where trucks are bought at nearly double the rate as any other state.

The participants were not only a part of history, but also enjoyed watching appearances by Ram’s “Raminator” monster truck, along with musical performances by Midnight Social, and appearances by country stars Kix Brooks, Thomas Rhett, and Easton Corbin. Participants also got free tickets for the ACM’s Party for a Cause Festival.

Why it matters

Well, it doesn’t really. This record just for bragging rights and publicity. But hey, there’s no such thing as bad publicity, is there? It is pretty cool that Ram can gather up enough folks to have 451 Ram trucks in one spot. Figuring there were probably two people in every truck, which means there were nearly 1,000 people on site, not including Ram and Guinness staff – along with all the celebrity appearances.

Now we sit and wonder what truck maker will attempt to surpass Ram’s record. Ford? Chevy? Y’all listening?
