Back in 2007 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Bugatti unveiled a very special edition of theirBugatti Veyron. This edition was not special because of the additions made to the vehicle (there weren’t any), but by the lack of a feature. The Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang (French for pure blood) was stripped of its body finish to reveal the luscious aluminum-carbon fiber body. The body was then given a clear coat finish and sent on its way. Collectors were awed by this vehicle and the limited number of five Pur Sangs were sold out by the end of that day.

With such a tremendous reception for this automobile, we were a little surprised to find one for sale on JamesList. Of course, this isn’t the first Pur Sang sold on this luxury marketplace. In fact, this is the fourth Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang sold on Jameslist and is accompanied by two other Pur Sangs currently for sale on Jameslist. The newest Pur Sang is being sold for an undisclosed amount by Car City Motors of Honk Kong who are also in possession of a Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing 6.0 V8 by Germany’s HWA AG (one of three built). To give some sort of idea as to how much this vehicle is going for, another Pur Sang for sale by The Car Experience is being sold for €2.5 million.

There has to be a reason that the owners of an ultra-rare, multi-million dollar car are selling them faster than the name can be pronounced. In the past couple of years, we have brought news of three Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang’s that have been on the market and we are starting to believe that maybe this car isn’t all that it was cracked up to be. Okay, it actually was, but we haven’t a clue why owners of this pure-blooded vehicle are selling their precious Bugattis. A colleague of mine chalked it up to emptying a space for the new Bugatti arriving sometime in 2012 or for the recently launched 2010 Bugatti 16 C Galibier. These theories are quite possible, so we are going to stick to those until anyone can prove otherwise.

What the heck a €2.5 million for a car? With that money I can establish my own small business. On situation like today you should be more wise on how to use money.
