Every year, Hindus and non-Hindus alike congregate to celebrate Holi, a festival with ancient religious roots commemorating the arrival of spring. Participants sing, dance, feast, and cover one another in multi-colored powders and liquids. It’s a rip-roaring good time, and this year Red Bull took a trip to Hyderabad, India, to get in on the action. The live demo included stunts from motorcycle freestyle rider Aras Gibieza, copious displays of acceleration from a grand prix car piloted by none other than David Coulthard, and a series of pigmented donuts to get the crowd going. Because when you got a hyper-powered F1 car at your disposal, water balloons won’t exactly cut the mustard, you know?

“It was fantastic to hear the energy of the crowd who was so excited to see the Formula 1 car here in Hyderabad,” Coulthard said. “When you have a crowd like this, which is so hungry for Formula 1 and the energy of these cars, it’s a pleasure to be here.”

India has played host to three grand prix races in the past, with 2011, 2012, and 2013 all seeing the top-level open-wheel series arrive for a round at the Buddh International Circuit near New Delhi. Sebastien Vettel took top honors in all three behind the wheel of a Red Bull-powered car.
