Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann confirms that 2022 will be the last year for traditional Lamborghinis as the brand takes “the last step of internal combustion engines”. However, there's no need to be concerned because Lamborghini's production-heavy vehicles, such as the Aventador, Huracán, and Urus, will all be plug-in hybrids by 2024. But what about the Lamborghini EV scheduled to launch in 2028? Here is an independent rendering from Wang Lei that sheds some light on what we might expect, and it seems to be far from the 2+2 two-door coupe that was previously suggested to be in the works.

Many Lamborghini EV renderings have surfaced on the internet, and now we have a probable Lamborghini EV supercar that's possible today, but it looks like it's from the year 2050. This isn't the Lamborghini we're used to seeing, and even trying to develop an idea like this is strenuous. The low ride height and angular design are among the exterior highlights, but the rendered concept showcases a driver-only cabin similar to the Lamborghini Vision GT. The wheels feature small LED bars, while the front bumper has a snarling, futuristic racer look. Factor in the sleek LED headlights and the vast intake vents, and the front end is sportier and more aggressive than any present-day Lamborghini.

As you have already noticed, there are no doors, and the rendering video clarifies that the roof pops out for the driver to get in or out - similar to that of a fighter jet. The rear sports sleek LED lightbars and a massive rear diffuser. The back of the roofline houses radiator vents like the typical Lamborghini way. The huge vent-like design on the rear bumper reminded us of the McLaren 720S.

If Lamborghini is trying to develop this kind of design, it would be very complex but still possible. Also, considering VAG’s electric architecture, it is impossible to fit a battery under a supercar that sits this close to the ground. That, however, doesn't mean a car like this won't exist in the future.
