The second-generation Porsche Panamera launched in 2017, and since then, the hatchback-style luxury sedan has not been updated on the design front. However, In April 2022, our spy photographers caught the upcoming Porsche Panamera with light camouflage, exposing the front-end as a tad bit modern-looking. Based on the spy shots, UNESS DESIGN has imagined the upcoming third-generation Porsche Panamera, which looks stunning.

Unlike BMW and Mercedes, Porsche’s design's philosophy from generation to generation has never been overwhelming. The Taycan, however, has utterly different styling elements since it is the brand’s first high-performance EV. Apart from that, the 911, 718, Cayenne, and the Macan have stayed visually identical to their predecessors. So when the renderings popped up, we weren’t amazed by how the upcoming Panamera would look because it seemed like a mid-cycle facelift.

The renderings show that the front fascia has updated headlight graphics, reminding us of the Taycan EV. In addition, the upcoming third-gen Panamera will possess massive intake grilles compared to the current selling models. However, we doubt that will be the case for all Panamera models, since UNESS DESIGN thinks that the Panamera Turbo and the models above would be the ones with this aggressive bodywork. Finally, vertical light bars beside the brake-cooling vents are a nice touch.

The side profile will remain identical, except for newer wheel designs. Moreover, the upcoming Panamera will be based on the current Panamera’s MSB platform from VW. The renderings state that the rear fascia has sleeker LED taillights, which look more like the 992-gen 911, and while the diffuser design stays the same, the quad exhaust tips are now rounded.

The interior design remains a mystery, but you can expect it to be close to the Taycan. As for the powertrain options, we think a mild-hybrid system will be part of the ICE-powered variants. So expect the V-6 and V-8 engines to get a raise in power output, as well as fuel efficiency. The range-topping Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful variant, with 690 ponies. Still, it falls back in the competition dominated by the AMG GT 63 S E Performance with an 830-horsepower rating. So the upcoming Panamera PHEV is expected to be more powerful and efficient.
