Revised Ford Focus to debut at Detroit Auto Show
At Detroit Auto Show Ford will unveil a revised and upgraded edition of its Focus small car as the auto maker looks to capitalize on increase interest by consumers in the U.S. small-car market.
Jim Cain, Ford spokesman, said the company is planning to show off the refreshed Focus for the 2008 model year at a time when "small cars are the hottest cars going." The car is expected to debut with a variety of new features, including standard side-curtain airbags that are generally thought to improve occupant safety. Ford’s entire lineup will be equipped with side-curtain airbags by 2009.
Ford is expected to refresh other models, including its Five Hundred sedan and Freestyle crossover, in the 2008 model year. It also plans to unveil a new, full-size crossover intended to replace its minivan.
