What’s known for fact is that the new Saab 9-1 is to debut at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show. But, according to German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, as cited by AutoBlog, the new Saab may have a future as a Saturn and, possibly, even a Pontiac.

In addition to the anticipated hybrid drivetrain expected as an option available on the Saab, the Saturn version could feature a removable roof panel.

The new Saab is based on the Delta platform that’s also to be used by the Opel Astra. It is the entry level car of the Saab line. A cabriolet version has been rumored from the start of speculation about the new car.

A concept car thought to preview the appearance of the new Saab 9-1 was shown last year.
