It wasn’t too long ago when Saab was perilously close to getting its head chopped off. Now, they’re releasing a new online configurator for the 2010 9-5 sedan. What a difference a change in ownership makes, huh?

The Swedish brand just came out with a configurator on their website for the 9-5 and, while it’s not as extensive as other configurators we’ve played with in the past, it’s still better than having nothing. Nothing being what Saab had at the beginning of the year.

The configurator currently only allows you to tweak colors and the wheels on the car, but the full version of the configurator will be up soon. In the meantime, we’ll have to settle for this, which isn’t really that bad of an alternative, especially if you’re someone who may be interested in scooping one up in the future.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More

Now ask yourselves if you would fly on a Boeing if it’s selling point was *designed by drivers, only one of whom had flown on a plane before*. It’s time for Saab to die. Actually that time was a long time ago.

Really nice looking Saab coupe, of which I think would sell fairly good (for a Saab anyways) and could possibly even be somewhat competitive in the affordable Lux Coupe realm.

At that price you’re really looking at Lexus GS 350 or Hyundai Genesis territory. In fact if you’re more adventurous you could buy a Pontiac G8 GXP and still save $5,000! Saab might make some nice cars but its hard to see very many takers, at least at the price Saab is quoting.

I guess this car will be extremely visited by huge fans and I think this will also get some comments and questions.

Not that very detailed unlike the Ferrari and Alfa Romeo online configurator Apps.

Yes, it’s fun to custom a saab but honestly Im not that impressed with the interface. Unlike in Ferrari and Alfa.

Not that good as the Ferrari online configurator and Alfa Romeo.

That’s alright, but it is much better if there was a full version of online configuration because I think it can attract people to purchase.

This is not new anymore but I must admit that this is a good leisure time for the big boys.
